Meet Dr. Cynthia Stroup
One of my favorite questions I get asked is: "When did you decide to become a veterinarian?". My parents tell me that as a young child I would say 'I want to be an animal doctor". I grew up having dogs, pet chickens and even raised wild baby birds. Since taking care of animals has always been a passion of mine, choosing veterinary medicine as a career came natural to me.
After graduating from the University of Florida in 1996 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine, I practiced for two years in Pinellas County before going back to school for one more year where I received specialized training in medicine and surgery at Virginia Tech. Then I returned to Pinellas County and worked at many different practices as a "Relief Veterinarian". The last four years I also worked for Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Services where I was able to expand my knowledge and experience in critical care and emergency medicine. Also, some of my other interests within the veterinary field include internal medicine, geriatrics and dermatology.
